RZR MKR
August 2016
Individual Project
My entry to Gillette's RZR MKR competition to design and 3D print a new, innovative razor handle. This design won second place and was purchased by Gillette.
I chose to make a handle for the Venus (female) razor range. In my razor design, I wanted to combine ergonomics with elegance. Having always felt that razor handles are not that comfortable to hold; I wanted to improve this. My entry has a rounded end to fit snugly in the palm of your hand. The slight depression on the underside indicates where your thumb should be positioned. It also has a flat base, allowing it to stand upright when not in use. The smooth, organic shape of the handle gives a modern aesthetic to it, whilst also being very comfortable to hold.
