Why can't I breathe?

Work in Progress:

Final Year Solo Project

For my final year solo project, I am making a wearable asthma monitor, aiming to improve quality of life for asthma sufferers by tracking and monitoring their symptoms.

Part 1: The System

The wearable device will sit on the patient's chest, listening for wheezing, coughing and the breathing cycle. It will pair with a bundle of sensors monitoring the patient's environment, comparing symptoms with environmental factors. This will all be coordinated via a mobile application.

Part 2: Software

The user interface for this project is critical for the user to understand their own progress and symptoms. I am currently working on how to effectively communicate the data in a clear and intuitive way.

Flowchart

After creating personas, I put together a flowchart to show how the different parts of the app would fit together.

First Digital Wireframes

I started by creating unstyled wireframes on Sketch to look at the overall structure of the app.

UX Mock-Up

Most recently, I worked on the UI and UX in more depth. I am now working to expand and improve this using Adobe XD.

Part 3: The Wearable

At this stage, I have developed a Product Design Specification (PDS) for the wearable and hope to develop the design in the coming months.
